🔹In view of the busiest traffic, encroachment was removed from both sides of Nehru Chowk.

🔹Hotels, shops and retail businessmen were instructed not to spread their goods on the main road for selling.

(Track city)/. Under the guidance and direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajneesh Singh and the leadership and guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Traffic Ram Gopal Kariyare, strict action is being taken continuously against drivers, shop owners, retail traders and other people who regularly violate traffic rules on major roads, for simple, easy, safe, well-organized and smooth traffic management in the city.
In the same sequence, today, in view of the traffic challenges due to the busiest traffic and gathering of a large number of vehicles every evening between Nehru Chowk and Indira Setu, action has been taken against the operators of various types of shops and operators of hotels, chaat, gup chup and fruit shops etc. who are obstructing the main road by disrupting the traffic on both sides of the said road. Intensive and strict action has been taken against those who have spread their sale material on the encroached land.
In this sequence, earlier also they were instructed not to spread the sale material outside the shops, hotels and hoardings installed for other purposes, but disregarding the said instructions, they were continuously spreading their sale material on the main road for commercial purposes, due to which traffic was being obstructed, along with this, hoardings, boards, directory flexi etc. were installed at the said place for other purposes, and by taking strict action as per rules, they have been freed from encroachment.
Also, in the action of freeing the area from encroachment, the Municipal Corporation has confiscated the said goods and has again cautioned them not to sell any kind of material by encroaching upon government land by obstructing the main road in any way, nor should they encourage their customers to park their vehicles at the said place. Instead, they have been counselled and instructed to put up boards in front of all the shops writing “No Parking Zone” and mentioning the traffic rules and the amount of fine under the sections of Motor Vehicle Act, so that the customers do not obstruct the main road by parking their vehicles in an inappropriate manner.
The shop owners of shops with a large number of customers have also been directed to appoint guards themselves to control and manage the customers and their vehicles and to park the vehicles in an orderly manner so that traffic is not obstructed. Action can again be taken by the concerned department against the businessmen who do not follow the above instructions, for which the Traffic Bilaspur will regularly correspond with the concerned departments and send a report for action.
It is to be noted that the major over bridges of the city which include Tifra Overbridge, Uslapur Over Bridge and Indira Setu, Ram Setu, Shanichari Bridge are extremely crowded during office hours in the morning and from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Keeping in view the above circumstances, the stoppage of buses and autos at Nehru Chowk has also been banned and the stoppage of the said buses and autos has been shifted ahead of Mahamaya Chowk in Sarkanda as an alternative arrangement for picking up passengers.
In order to ensure that the general public does not face any inconvenience, every day in the evening, in case of heavy rush and busy traffic on the said over bridge, passenger vehicles, buses and other big vehicles will be diverted from Sendri Tiraha towards Pendri Dih and from Mopka Tiraha via Lalkhadan to the new bus stand. All the bus operators have also been informed in advance in this regard.
Therefore, the Traffic Police Bilaspur is regularly and repeatedly appealing to all the drivers, shop owners and common citizens to keep the traffic system in the city simple, easy, safe, well-organized and smooth. However, strict and stringent action will be taken against those violating the rules. Common citizens will not have to face any kind of inconvenience. For this, traffic discussions are also being held continuously with various civil organizations so that public participation of all units along with Traffic Police Bilaspur can be ensured in better traffic management of their own city.
